PROFHILO® Treatment at FACEmed

Joining the family of non-surgical injectable aesthetic treatments, Profhilo® is 100% hyaluronic acid (HA) carefully targeted towards multiple different injection points around the face, neck and chest to distribute high strength HA which stimulates your body’s own collagen production. The high concentration of HA also produces a fresh and glowing complexion, reduced skin laxity and reduced lines and wrinkles.

How does Profhilo® work?

HA is produced naturally within one’s body and is responsible for holding your skin together like scaffolding on a building. Over time, with age, one’s body produces less and less HA naturally, leading to skin sagging, dullness, lines and wrinkles. Profhilo® has been designed to hydrate and replenish your skin rather than act like a dermal filler which is used to augment certain features of the face. Profhilo® ‘remodels’ the skin rather than ‘filling’ it. The series of HA injections encourages the production of elastane and collagen which continues to disperse over the course of a few weeks post-treatment meaning your skin continues to look more youthful with improved laxity (reduction in sagging) over time.

How often should I have Profhilo® Treatment?

Initially, for first time Profhilo® patients, 2/3 treatments (depending on condition of your skin) with minimum intervals of 4 weeks are recommended. Once the desired results have been achieved the treatment can last up to 6 months and can be repeated as desired thereafter.

When should I consider Profhilo® Treatment?

Profhilo® is an ideal treatment for both women and men in their 30’s who are starting to experience the first signs of skin sagging, dullness, lines and wrinkles. Early-mid 30’s is considered the optimal age to begin Profhilo® treatment to allow for preservation of your youthful appearance. Profhilo® is also suitable for patients above 30’s and patients who have already had surgical, non-surgical intervention in the past. Older people are more likely to notice a remarkable difference to their skin post Profhilo® treatment although may be recommended more frequent treatment to achieve a desired look/feel which can then be maintained less frequently.

In some cases of advanced ageing or depending on the desired look to be achieved, Profhilo® can be used in conjunction with muscle relaxants and dermal fillers.
