Dermal Filler for Foot Cushioning

Treatment for Pain in the Balls of the Feet

So many of us suffer with pain in the balls of our feet and this can be caused by a number of factors. The most common cause is age. As we get older the fatty pad designed to cushion the balls of our feet when we walk becomes diminished causing pain due to excessive pressure and wearing. People who wear high heels for long periods of time also tend to suffer from pain in the balls of their feet, again due to excessive pressure over a long period of time.

Treatment with Dermal Filler

Dermal filler to foot pads is an advanced procedure best undertaken by a podiatric surgeon who specialises in procedures of the foot and ankle. Firstly, local anaesthetic is administered in order to numb the area. A special hyaluronic acid dermal filler is carefully injected into the areas of the foot pre-marked by the surgeon.

How do the dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers are also known as hyaluronic acid which is a gel-like water holding molecule. It binds itself to the moisture that hydrates the area that has been injected and provides a plumping effect which in turn cushions the balls of the feet. This reduces pain and lasts between 6-12months.
