We are delighted to introduce laser dentistry to the FACEMED dental clinic in Essex. Laser dentistry is a modern, cutting-edge way of treating a range of dental problems, not only that, but it is a more comfortable option for our patients over traditional methods.
What are dental lasers?
The lasers used in dentistry emit a narrow and intense light beam that can be used for precision targeting of the teeth, bone, or on the soft tissues inside the mouth.
At FACEMED in Billericay, Essex, we have invested in the Waterlase® Laser dentistry is a modern, cutting-edge way of treating a range of dental problems, not only that, but it is a more comfortable option for our patients over traditional methods.
By Biolase which is an award winning dental laser device. This device uses a combination of water, air and energy to safely and precisely treat an array of dental concerns without pain!
What does the Waterlase® dental laser treat?
Laser dental treatment with Waterlase® can be used on soft tissue for the non-surgical treatment of gum disease, or removal of painful oral lesions or mouth ulcers.
For hard tissues it can be used for the surgical and non surgical treatment of the structures surrounding and supporting the teeth. The Waterlase® can be used as a quicker, more precise way to repair failing implants and in crown lengthening surgery, to more comfortably expose the tooth that is beneath the gum, making it easier to place a filling or crown.
This list of treatments is not exhaustive, so if you are interested in Laser dental surgery, but are not sure if your concern can be treated we would recommend booking into our Billericay clinic for a full consultation where we can advise you on the best course of treatment for your specific issue.
What are the benefits of laser dental treatment?
The Waterlase® is a gentle and minimally invasive dental laser tool that treats many dental concerns without using a drill. It can also minimise, and in some cases even eradicate the need for anaesthetic injections, which is great news for our patients who are less comfortable with needles.
In addition to these concerns that many of our patients face, a Waterlase® dental laser treatment is:
- Virtually pain free – Reduces the need for drills and uncomfortable injections and creates less swelling and pain compared to traditional methods.
- Safe and precise – Removes precise amounts of the tooth without damaging or cracking surrounding teeth.
- Convenient – Cuts down on the amount of appointments needed. In many cases you can expect same day results.
- Suitable for most patients – Gentle enough to treat both children and adults alike.
- More natural – The laser interacts with your teeth’s natural water content to cut through hard tissue.
- Reduces the risk of cross contamination – Utilises single use disposable tips.
