Non-Surgical Neck Lift

A well-defined jawline with a long neck has been a sign of beauty since the time of the Ancient Egyptians. This procedure which creates a toned, smooth neck and lifted jawline was named after Queen Nefertiti, whose bone structure continues to be admired in modern times.

The Nefertiti neck lift is a technique whereby multiple injections of Botulinum Toxin Type A are administered along the lower jawline as well as down the side of the neck along the platysma muscle in order to improve the definition of the jawline, rebalance the underlying muscles and provide ‘lifting’ in the neck and jaw area.

Once these muscles are relaxed the net effect is an upward pull from facial muscles, creating a younger looking jawline, neck and face. For a lasting result the treatment needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 months.

Although most of the patients are very happy with treatment results, the off-label use of botulinum toxin A is not a replacement for surgery and definitely not a “face-lift in a bottle”.

After this procedure any muscle stimulation treatments are contraindicated and remember: as far as exercising your facial muscles to obtain a “natural facelift” (we’ve heard everything!), you might as well save your energy to exercise other muscles because facial muscles create wrinkles, they don’t remove them. Furthermore, exercising the lower face and neck muscle will provide you with one result only: extended jowls and saggy neck. That’s an anatomical fact.

The procedure consists of a few injections in the target area using acupuncture-like needles. It takes only few minutes, little discomfort and no down time.

The treatment will gradually wear off after 3-4 months. If the area is re-treated as soon as the muscles start to move, then the muscles never regain their “memory”. After a number of re-treatments the interval between treatments becomes longer.

You may get a slight bruise at the injection site.
