Gapped teeth, also known as diastema, is a common dental condition where noticeable spaces or gaps exist between the teeth. This condition can affect both children and adults and is often a source of self-consciousness and discomfort.
At FACEMED Aesthetics & Dentistry Clinic in Essex, we specialise in providing effective treatments for gapped teeth, including Invisalign and fixed braces. Our expert team is dedicated to helping you achieve a confident, beautiful smile.
Gapped teeth can result from a variety of factors, including:
Inherited traits can influence the size of your teeth and jawbone, leading to gaps.
Prolonged thumb sucking during childhood can cause gaps as it affects the development of teeth and jaw.
The pressure from tongue thrusting can push teeth forward, creating gaps.
Gum disease can cause the bone that supports your teeth to deteriorate, leading to gaps.
An improper bite can cause uneven spacing between teeth.
We offer advanced treatments to close gaps and align your teeth for a more uniform smile. Our primary treatments for gapped teeth include:
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually shift your teeth into place. This treatment is discreet, comfortable, and highly effective for closing gaps.
Traditional braces use metal brackets and wires to correct the position of your teeth. They are a reliable option for more severe cases of gapped teeth and provide precise control over tooth movement.

Treating gapped teeth can improve your oral health, enhance your appearance, and boost your self-confidence. It can also prevent potential issues such as misalignment and periodontal problems.
The duration of Invisalign treatment varies depending on the severity of the gaps and the individual case. On average, it can take between 6 to 18 months to achieve the desired results.
Both fixed braces and Invisalign are effective treatments for gapped teeth. The best option depends on your specific dental needs and personal preferences. Our orthodontic specialists will help you determine the most suitable treatment.
Invisalign aligners are designed for comfort and typically cause less discomfort than traditional braces. You may experience mild pressure or soreness when you switch to a new set of aligners, but this is usually temporary.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is crucial during treatment. Brush and floss regularly, and follow our orthodontist’s instructions. For Invisalign users, it’s important to clean your aligners daily and remove them while eating or drinking anything other than water.
Monica is extremely skilled at what she does, every procedure I have had has made me look natural, refreshed and more youthful. She is very professional and gives me confidence in her abilities. The clinic is absolutely spotless and run efficiently. I have been seeing her for several years and would highly recommend her services.
To say I’m pleased with the service is an understatement, outstanding patient care and a first class service. Doctor George and Team are by far the best dental team I’ve experienced. The FACEMED facility is of the highest standard and I highly recommend that anyone looking for any dental treatment to look no further than here.
Monica is truly amazing. The results are phenomenal and very natural. Monica spends time assessing your particular facial structure and physiology and treats accordingly, always being careful to produce the best results – she provides a bespoke service and her years of experience are priceless – I travel an hour to go to her! Would highly recommend and will never go anywhere else!
I hadn’t been to the dentist for year as i’ve always been too scared!! I plucked up the courage after Dr Ketan Sheth treated my 9 and 11 year old children and they were fine. Can honestly say now I don’t know why I didn’t go sooner. Dr Ketan Sheth is a fantastic dentist and all the staff and the surgery as a whole there is 5 star! Thank you for all your help and see you in 6 months.
I have been using FACEMED for a number of years now for natural, painless Botox injections. A few years ago I decided to also have Blepharoplasty Eyelid Surgery. The clinic has its own operating theatre for the Consultant Plastic Surgeon to perform surgery, the results were perfect. FACEMED is immaculately clean, the staff are professional and helpful and Monica is an absolute expert in her field.
I love my experience when visiting FACEMED. Such a relaxing, professional atmosphere. Furthermore, I look forward to seeing the results of my treatments, of which I am never in doubt. I totally recommend FACEMED for truly excellent results.
