The Obagi Blue Peel® uses Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) as its active ingredient, combined with the patented Blue Base from Obagi®. Unlike common alpha-hydroxy peels or at-home treatments, the Obagi® Blue Peel provides a professional approach. The strength of the peel is tailored to individual needs, the level of skin damage, and desired results. To prepare for the procedure and achieve the best outcome, the Obagi® Nu-Derm System must be used.

The Obagi® Blue Peel procedure takes less than an hour and usually does not require sedation. The peel will be applied to your face and neck. You might experience a mild burning sensation that typically lasts only a few minutes. Your skin will have a bluish tint that generally washes off within 12-24 hours. Depending on the peel’s strength and depth, you may experience light swelling, and your skin will begin to peel within two to three days. Peeling continues over the next several days, and by day 7-10, your skin should be healed.

The damaged surface layer of skin is removed, and the body will replenish it with a fresh layer that is smoother, well-toned, and more even in colour.

Maintaining your skin’s new healthy glow and youthful appearance involves an ongoing process. Other Obagi skincare systems (such as Obagi Nu-Derm and Obagi C Rx) will be prescribed to sustain the rejuvenated skin.
