Chipped teeth can occur due to various reasons, including:
Falls, car accidents, and sports injuries can lead to sudden impacts that chip or break teeth.
Eating hard foods like nuts, candy, or ice can sometimes result in a chipped tooth.
Teeth with weakened enamel due to poor dental hygiene or previous dental treatments are more susceptible to chipping.
Chronic grinding or clenching (bruxism) can wear down teeth and make them more prone to chipping.
As we age, our teeth naturally become more brittle, increasing the risk of chipping.
We offer comprehensive treatment options to restore chipped teeth and alleviate any associated discomfort. Our emergency dentists are skilled in a range of procedures to ensure your tooth is repaired with precision and care.
Treatment options include:
A tooth-coloured resin is applied to the chipped area and shaped to restore the tooth’s natural appearance.
For more severe chips, a crown can cover and protect the damaged tooth, restoring both function and aesthetics.
Thin porcelain veneers can be used to cover the front surface of the chipped tooth, providing a durable and natural-looking solution.
If the chip has affected the tooth’s pulp, a root canal may be necessary to remove the damaged tissue and prevent infection.
Minor chips can often be smoothed and polished to blend seamlessly with the rest of the tooth.

Yes, a chipped tooth can be a dental emergency, especially if it causes pain, affects your ability to eat, or exposes the inner layers of the tooth to infection.
No, a chipped tooth will not heal on its own. It is important to seek dental treatment to prevent further damage and restore the tooth’s integrity.
To prevent chipping, avoid biting on hard objects, wear a mouthguard during sports, practice good oral hygiene, and visit your dentist regularly for check-ups.
The time required to repair a chipped tooth depends on the severity of the chip and the chosen treatment method. Simple bonding can be completed in one visit, while crowns or veneers may require multiple appointments.
Monica is extremely skilled at what she does, every procedure I have had has made me look natural, refreshed and more youthful. She is very professional and gives me confidence in her abilities. The clinic is absolutely spotless and run efficiently. I have been seeing her for several years and would highly recommend her services.
To say I’m pleased with the service is an understatement, outstanding patient care and a first class service. Doctor George and Team are by far the best dental team I’ve experienced. The FACEMED facility is of the highest standard and I highly recommend that anyone looking for any dental treatment to look no further than here.
Monica is truly amazing. The results are phenomenal and very natural. Monica spends time assessing your particular facial structure and physiology and treats accordingly, always being careful to produce the best results – she provides a bespoke service and her years of experience are priceless – I travel an hour to go to her! Would highly recommend and will never go anywhere else!
I hadn’t been to the dentist for year as i’ve always been too scared!! I plucked up the courage after Dr Ketan Sheth treated my 9 and 11 year old children and they were fine. Can honestly say now I don’t know why I didn’t go sooner. Dr Ketan Sheth is a fantastic dentist and all the staff and the surgery as a whole there is 5 star! Thank you for all your help and see you in 6 months.
I have been using FACEMED for a number of years now for natural, painless Botox injections. A few years ago I decided to also have Blepharoplasty Eyelid Surgery. The clinic has its own operating theatre for the Consultant Plastic Surgeon to perform surgery, the results were perfect. FACEMED is immaculately clean, the staff are professional and helpful and Monica is an absolute expert in her field.
I love my experience when visiting FACEMED. Such a relaxing, professional atmosphere. Furthermore, I look forward to seeing the results of my treatments, of which I am never in doubt. I totally recommend FACEMED for truly excellent results.
