Sweet Charity was set up 15 years ago by Dawn Jacques, Denise Cutbill and Clare George, who’ve all been touched by cancer and wanted to do something positive. The Charity has raised in excess of £250,000 which goes solely to Cancer Research UK, a charity which does not receive government funding and relies solely on donations to continue its vital work.
“The Charity has organised the ball for the last 14 years and each year I contribute something to raise as much money as possible. I strongly believe it is important to support not only local causes but my patients also. I have been touched by the many cancer related stories I have heard in my consulting rooms over the years and this is just a little way to help” said Monica Berrangé, Centre Principal.
Charity Ball organiser Clare George, says “At the ball we hold an auction which raises most of the money, this is only possible because of the generosity of people like Monica Berrangé. She continues to support Sweet Charity every year and we are so grateful to have FACEMED offering continued support towards our Charity.”
Attended by 160 people, this year’s ball has so far raised in excess of £18,000 for Cancer Research UK.
