Miss Kallirroi Tzafetta is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon. She has been a Consultant for 17 years at the renown St Andrew’s Centre of Plastic Surgery and Burns in Broomfield Hospital, Essex, in the United Kingdom. Prior to this placement, she was a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary, in Leeds, UK for almost 2 years. She has vast experience in reconstructions of the Head and Neck and Facial Paralysis. She also performs cosmetic surgery procedures, especially addressing the aesthetics of the face with a great expertise in facelifting and eyelid surgery.
She has been trained in Plastic Surgery Centres in the United Kingdom, and she has furthered her microsurgical training and sub-specialized in Facial Palsy reanimation as a Microsurgical Fellow in Norfork, Virginia, USA under Prof Terzis. She has a Masters Degree (MPhil) from the University of Bradford, UK for her full-time research in wound healing, awarded on 2001.
She is the President of the Plastic Surgery Division of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) in London, Chair of the Scientific Program Committee of EURAPS, Board member of the facial palsy UK, Secretary for the Bell’s Palsy Society and the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery. She has been an author on scientific papers and textbook chapters (such as: Facial Reanimation at: Plastic Surgery, Indications and Practice by B Guyuron, et al, Atlas of Operative Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery by M Perry, S Holmes, Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery.
She has been invited speaker and Faculty in numerous National and International meetings and has organized several meetings at Anglia Ruskin University, in Chelmsford and Royal Society of Medicine (RSM).
Ms Tzafetta is a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM) and the Sir Charles Bell Society for facial paralysis.
Ms Tzafetta has no financial interest and is not a shareholder within FACEMED nor does she have any financial share or interest in equipment used at the centre. Ms Tzafetta does not hold any paid advisory roles at this centre or within FACEMED. She has full practice privileges at FACEMED but is not under employment.
