The 19th November 2024 is International Men’s Day, which is a day for us to celebrate the positive value that men bring to the world. The theme for this year’s International Men’s Day is ‘Positive Male Role Models’ and we didn’t want to let this special day go unnoticed at FACEMED.
From our esteemed male doctors and practitioners, to our male patients, there are lots of men who bring a wealth of positivity to the FACEMED family. We often write articles on our treatments and how women can benefit from the services we offer, but this International Men’s Day we wanted to focus on the treatments that we offer to men.
Male aesthetics
Our male patients deserve to be pampered but sometimes they are not sure about the specific aesthetics treatments we offer and they may feel that there is a stigma in getting these types of treatment. The truth is, we are seeing that male patients are becoming far more open to the aesthetics treatments we offer, and men are really opening up to anti-ageing injectables and even using medical grade skincare to look after their skin health.
Anti-wrinkle injections for men
One of the most popular aesthetic treatments we offer to men is anti-wrinkle injections. Women have been aware of the anti-ageing benefits of anti-wrinkle injections for some time, and as this treatment rises in popularity, we now see far more male patients who appreciate how this treatment can turn back the look of an ageing face and even make them feel more confident in their daily lives.
Anti-wrinkle injections is a relatively quick treatment that is non-invasive. The procedure consists of completing a consultation, having some photos taken before the treatment (so we can show you the results once the treatment has worked), and having some superficial injections to target the fine lines and wrinkles that show up on the forehead, crows feet and frown lines.
It takes about two weeks before you will see the effects of the treatment, and at this point we will invite you in for a review appointment so we can make sure the treatment has worked as expected, and make any tweaks that might be necessary. We will then take some after pictures so we can compare how you looked before and after your anti-wrinkle injections treatment.
Dermal fillers for men
Dermal fillers can target areas of the face where you have lost volume and add structure to the face. Some more popular areas where men like to have dermal filler treatment include the cheeks, to restore lost volume, or the chin and jawline, which can help build a squarer more masculine looking structure.
You will only need one appointment for dermal filler treatment and the results look very natural and can be seen straight away. As the filler settles the treatment will look even better, as the hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers also helps to improve the look of skin quality, as they help to hydrate the skin.
Medical grade skincare
Men who want to improve what their skin looks like are also using medical grade skincare. These are skincare products that are clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve the tone and texture of the skin.
These products can be used in isolation, for those who would prefer not to have injectable treatments, or in conjunction with anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers for a more dramatic effect.
