What is Hyperhidrosis?

If you are someone that suffers from excessive sweating, you may have something called Hyperhidrosis. This is a common condition, and areas that tend to be commonly affected are people’s armpits and hands although some suffer from Hyperhidrosis all over their body. If you suffer from Hyperhidrosis you may be spending a significant amount of time trying to cope with your sweating, finding yourself not taking part in certain activities, having your condition affect your job, and avoiding physical contact with others.

There is no root cause or reason for someone having Hyperhidrosis, and there unfortunately is no cure. But there are ways that we can help relieve Hyperhidrosis, and treat it to make day-to-day life a little more comfortable and easier for you – one of which is by using Botox Injections.

Botulinum Toxin Type A Injections for Hyperhidrosis

Botulinum Type A injections have been used to medically treat causes of Hyperhidrosis for years, and are most commonly injected into the armpits. It is administered by injection into carefully targeted areas of the body that are affected by Hyperhidrosis. Botulinum Toxin Type A reduces sweating by blocking the signals from the brain to your sweat glands and this procedure usually takes about 30-45 minutes in total, depending on the areas injected.

The effects of the injections usually last for 3-4 months, after which the treatment can be repeated if necessary. There are no widespread side effects of this treatment as it is applied locally, and it can provide people with major relief for their Hyperhidrosis. For the majority of our clients, this therapy provides them with a huge amount of relief and is a delightful change that can majorly improve their confidence.
