Brow or EyeLid Ptosis

Alleviate symptoms of droopy eyelids

Brow ptosis or a sagging brow is usually a result of the ageing changes that affect the forehead muscles and the surrounding soft tissue.

Sometimes brow ptosis is present along with eyelid ptosis or hanging upper eyelid skin.

Acquired ptosis is common and usually occurs due to the muscles that elevate the eyelid becoming weak, thin, or stretched with age.

Droopy eyelids often interfere with vision and can lead to fatigue from straining to elevate the eyelids, impairment of visual fields in the relaxed non-compensated state, poor eyelid function, discomfort, headache worsening towards end of day and/or evidence of chronic compensation through elevation of the brow.

Brow Ptosis or eyeLid Ptosis does not correct itself over time

For a temporary result a chemical lift with Botulinum Toxin Type A might be appropriate.

The non-surgical approach requires no recovery time and the aim of the treatment is to restore appearance and function.

At times, the non-surgical brow lift might be considered in combination with other non-surgical approaches such as dermal filler to provide a subtle lift of the brow.

Eyebrow lifts with Botulinum Toxin Type A produce a temporary result (3-4 months) and the lift is minimal but in many cases the improvement is adequate and easily maintained with a regular treatment plan.

For a longer term result, surgery may be recommended.

Miss Monica Berrange

Your Experience & The Future

The procedure consists of a few injections in the target area using acupuncture-like needles. It takes only few minutes, little discomfort and no down time.

The treatment will gradually wear off after 3-4 months. If the area is re-treated as soon as the muscles start to move, then the muscles never regain their “memory”. After a number of re-treatments the interval between treatments becomes longer.

Potential Side-Effects and the Result

You may get a slight bruise at the injection site.

Please note that some patients who don’t require the treatment or are not good candidates will be advised during the consultation process and treatment may be declined to avoid disappointment.

Beware of Bargain Botox®

Your health and wellbeing is not something you should put at risk for the sake of a few pounds. There are many stories of bogus muscle relaxant injectors offering this treatment at impossibly low prices. The old adage, “…sounds too good to be true…” is normally true when it comes to medical aesthetic injectable treatments. Remember, although it is a cosmetic treatment it is a prescription-only medicine and can only be performed by medical doctors and nurses with special prescribing qualifications. If you are unsure about who is performing the treatment and their qualifications, we recommended checking the SAVE FACE website which contains the only government recognised list of accredited practitioners.
