Lip Hydration, Enhancement and Definition

Lip augmentation AND REHYDRATION is used to enhance the appearance of thin, aged, or asymmetrical lips.

Lip enhancement treatment using carefully targeted dermal filler provides the perfect solution to achieving a naturally full and rejuvenated lip aesthetic. Lip enhancement also provides a harmonious balance to your facial features. By having a refreshed lip-line with a more defined contour this will also help to stop the lipstick bleed experienced by many ageing women. FACEmed Aesthetic Practitioner Monica Berrange only uses non-permanent, safe and effective products in her facial aesthetics treatments.

Your Experience and the Future

The treatment takes 30-45 minutes. Local anaesthetic may be used depending on the area treated & personal preference. The filler is injected into the area with a very fine needle. Discomfort is minimal and won’t last long. A further treatment 2-4 weeks later may be required to achieve an optimal correction.

The result is instantaneous, producing a natural appearing improvement lasting up to 9 months.

Potential side Effects of Lip Enhancement treatment

After lip enhancement, the main side effect is swelling of the lips. This will gradually resolve over 3-5 days. Usually injection of the lip body produces more swelling than injection at the lip border. Slight bruising may also result at the injection site.

Occasionally, lip enhancement may cause cold sores to recur. If this is the case, please notify us so we can prescribe an anti-viral tablet.

It is best to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive UV exposure for at least 48 hours post treatment.

On occasion minor irregularities may be noticed initially. These may be massaged twice daily until they have resolved.

Patients often ask… Permanent Versus Non-Permanent Fillers in the Lips?

If we are to consider facial aesthetics in relation to the ageing process then we know that facial shape, form and volume changes with age. In this case we may want to adapt our facial features periodically to the ever changing aesthetic needs of the face. Also we may want to consider the fact that what we may find aesthetically pleasing today may not be aesthetically pleasing in 10 years time. Perhaps we may want to have a plumper look now but later on we may find that less volume is more suitable for our ever-changing face. Non-Permanent Fillers is the safe answer.
